Technologies for health

4

  • Regular self treatment at home using certain devices can be very beneficial for CRPS including near and far infra-red devices and garments.

Virtual Reality (VR) Headsets are becoming increasingly affordable – there are some health specific Apps and some generic Apps and games can be used to work on aspects of health.

InterX technology – This is dermoneuromodulation technology. The professional device can be used in a clinic, or a personal device can be used at home.

  • Personalise a daily home treatment program (for some devices only to be used once a week).
  • Often devices are used as part of an integrative/whole person approach and not placed directly on the affected limb, ie, vagal nerve stimulation for the autonomic nervous system, infra-red on the corresponding area of the spine or a slight distance from the limb if severe allodynia.
  • Certificate in Rezzimax. Rezzimax can be used for Somatosensory Rehbililtation Method – vibrotactile counter stimulation (in clinic with your hand therapist or physio)
